Happy Holidays from LPGA International!
LPGA International is a great place to purchase a special Christmas gift for the golfer in your family. You can purchase advanced golf fees, clubs, balls, golf shoes, apparel, golf lessons or accessories for men, women and juniors in our award winning golf shop. If you are not sure what your golfer would like, purchase a gift card. They are redeemable for golf rounds, lessons, and merchandise too! This is a great stocking stuffer!
Our December golf schedule includes maintenance for our golf course greens and tees. We will begin the overseeding process this month. Overseeding of the greens and tees gives the course that really nice dark green color throughout the winter months and gives stability to the bermuda grass. I like to use the analogy that when the weather gets colder we put a sweater on to protect our skin and keep us warm - our superintendent does the same thing when the he puts the winter grass on the greens and tees. The winter grass protects the bermuda grass, and it gives a good color and even putting surface through the cold season. We will be overseeding the Champions courses on December 9 and 10, then the Legends course will be over seeded on December 18 and 19. We appreciate your patience as we continue to strive to give you the best in golf course conditions year round. If you have questions about golf course overseeding, please email us and we’ll be more than happy to help you.
Just a reminder for those of you who who are interested in our special rates and packages:
LPGA International offers a wide variety of golf rates depending on the time of day and where your permanent address is located. Golf Sock testing will take place on Sunday, December 7th and 8th in the LPGA International Golf Shop. If you are male, play two times a week, wear a size 9 to 12 shoe and also wear roll-top socks, you are the person that we are looking for! The testing is easy and your feedback is critical for golf companies to continue to improve their products. We thank all the previous participants and welcome all the new people that have taken their time to give feedback. Also, for the women… finally glove testing for women will be held the week of December 15th! I’ll send a notice out when we receive the instructions.
Have a wonderful week! See you at the club!

golf tip
By Beverley Davis

What is alignment? How do we do it and why should we line up?
There are some obvious answers and maybe one or two that we are not aware of. Alignment to the target, whether it’s to the flag or to something else that will help us reach our ultimate goal, is something that most people don’t do because they simply don’t understand how. It’s pretty simple; we make it harder than it needs to be. Envision railroad tracks running to your target. The top rail points to the target. That rail represents your club head... The bottom rail represents your body - but lets get more specific - it represents your toes. Draw a line perpendicular across your toes and that line will be left of your target not pointing to the target. To make it easier to understand, take a club and place it on the same line that the ball will travel on and another club across your toes. Stand back behind the two clubs looking at the target and ask yourself the question, "Will the train make it down the track to its destination or do the two lines merges therefore, making it impossible for the train to reach its destination!”
The obvious reason for alignment is to be able to send the ball in the direction of the target. The other reason is to be able to send the ball in the right direction - but with power. Crossing or merging the lines will not allow your body to move, turn or rotate freely while the arms and club move unconstructively towards the target.
For more information about alignment come join us at one of our three weekly clinics or visit our website at www.lpgainternational.com
